John Kiefer couldn't find blues records in Lawrence, Kansas in 1959. He parlayed his frustration into a new business. It was tough going at first, but Kief’s Records persevered, eventually becoming one of America's best record shops. Today, Kief's has two locations. Our 2429 Iowa shop (primarily devoted to audio/video) features a music department; Kief's Downtown Music at 823 Massachusetts is all about music, new and used, on disc, vinyl, and dvd.
